Wide establishing shot from above, looking down on the zoo's central path. In the midground, Estephen stands alone on the path, scales blazing hot pink and neon green, boots planted wide, holding a half-eaten churro and staring around in bewilderment with both neon yellow eyes pointing in different directions. In the foreground, a toppled snow cone cart leaks red syrup across the pavement. In the background, every zoo enclosure shows animals collapsed mid-activity: a giraffe draped over its fence, penguins face-down in a pile. Bright midday sunlight, warm golden-white, casting short sharp shadows. Dominant palette: warm tawny concrete, electric pink and cyan from Estephen's scales, pops of red from the snow cone puddle. Hidden detail: one small squirrel in the far background is NOT asleep and is actively stealing peanuts from an unattended cart.

Estephen and the Snoozing Zoo

Every single animal at the zoo just fell asleep. At the same time. Right in the middle of lunch. The giraffes slumped sideways. The penguins face-planted into their fish buckets. The gorilla is snoring so loud it rattles the fence, which, honestly, is impressive. You Estephen stand at the center of it all, your neon green scales flickering to confused pink, an uneaten churro dangling from your clawed hand. Something smells like burnt cinnamon and old library books. That is not a zoo smell. That is a MAGIC smell. A tiny voice pipes up from the lost-and-found bin next to the entrance gate. "Wouldn't this be a great time to find out who cast the Slumber Spiral on my zoo?" A small owl in a very, very crowded pointy hat pops her head out, name tags fluttering. "Wouldn't it?"
