Slithers glides through the front doors of Prairie Creek Elementary. Today is school chore day. But something is wrong. Bumper-Bot, the shiny floor cleaner, is rolling in wild circles. Honk! Beep! Clatter! The sudden harsh noises make Slithers's scales feel prickle-prickly. His stomach twists. First, Slithers stops. Next, he pulls his soft blue headphones over his ears. Ahhh. The loud clatter softens into a gentle hum. Slithers takes one deep breath. Now he watches the robot carefully. Bumper-Bot turns at ninety-degree corners, just like an engine on train tracks. Slithers knows all about trains.
