Kitsilano smells like sunscreen and salt and someone's excellent hot dog.
Fillbert breathes it all in.
He is on a mission. A VERY IMPORTANT SCOUTING MISSION. He has his compass. He has his handbook. He has his sash, which has twenty-seven merit badges on it, and he plans to have twenty-eight by sunset.
Gorillionaire walks beside him, diamond cane tap-tap-tapping the path.
"What badge are we after today?" Gorillionaire asks.
"Wildlife Helper," says Fillbert. "I have to assist a creature in genuine need."
Gorillionaire considers this. "And if we don't find one?"
"We will find one," says Fillbert. "There is always someone who needs help."
He is, as it turns out, completely right.
