Children's Privacy Notice

Who uses this product

Accounts are created and used by parents and legal guardians. Children participate only under direct supervision of the account holder. Our Path is not directed at children for direct account creation.

What information we collect about children

We treat any data the parent enters about a child as children's data and apply this notice to it. That includes:

• The child's first name or nickname if entered as a character name.
• Visual descriptions the parent writes about the child (hair, eyes, clothing, personality traits) for character generation.
• Story prompts and lesson goals the parent or supervised child types.
• The generated stories, characters, and images created from those inputs.

We deliberately do not ask for the child's last name, address, phone number, school, birthday, or any government identifier. Do not upload identifiable photos of real children. Our character system is built around written descriptions, not uploaded photographs.

How we use that information

We use children's information only to:

• Generate the stories, characters, and images the parent has requested.
• Store those outputs in the parent's account so the family can re-read them.
• Investigate and respond to safety reports related to that family's account.

We do not use children's information for behavioral advertising. We do not use children's inputs or generated content to train third-party AI models.

Parental consent

During account signup the parent must affirm that they are at least 18 years old and are the parent or legal guardian of any child who will use the account, and must accept the Terms of Service and this Children's Privacy Notice. We record the timestamp of that consent and the version of the documents the parent accepted. When this notice changes materially, we require re-consent before further use.

Third-party processors that handle children's data

The processors below receive the minimum information required to do their job, and are contractually prohibited from using it for their own purposes.

• Convex — primary backend and database.
• OpenAI — illustrations, character portraits, narration audio.
• Anthropic — story writing and live-mode narration.
• Replicate — background removal on character portraits.
• Stripe — payments. Stripe never receives the child's story content or character details.
• Resend — transactional email to the parent.

Retention

We keep children's data for as long as the parent's account remains active and the parent has not asked us to delete it. Stories and characters can be deleted individually inside the app. Closing the account triggers deletion of all associated children's data within 30 days.

Parental review, correction, and deletion

A parent or legal guardian may at any time:

• Review every story and character associated with their account inside the app.
• Delete any individual story or character inside the app.
• Request a full export or deletion of all data associated with the account by emailing seanstobo@gmail.com from the email address on file. We confirm and complete the request within 30 days.
• Withdraw consent to further collection by closing the account.

Disclosure

We do not sell children's data, do not share it for advertising, and do not transfer it for any purpose outside this notice unless required by law or in response to a valid legal process.

Updates

When we update this notice in a material way we will update the "Updated" date and require parents to re-accept before further use of the account.
